The Weekend

Friday, my dad came over to do some work at our house and D.J. took half a day off work. The two of them put my storm door on. There were some problems before when they tried to hang it because our builder did something weird. However, my dad came over and took some measurements and was able to "rig" something together. He did a wonderful job and it looks like is belongs there. My dad and D.J. also hung my mirror and picture frame. My mom came and got the girls in the afternoon and after my dad left, D.J. and I went to Walmart for a few things and then we came home and I did homework.

Saturday, I woke up and did homework and D.J. slept in. When he woke up, we got ready and went to my parents house. My Grandma Mary and my Great Aunt Georgia (Grandma's sister from Texas) and my Uncle Willard and Aunt Vanda were there for a visit. We had a yummy lunch and then played Dominos, what fun that was...I was the winner! CC and Matt came over for a little while and everyone had dinner. Then D.J., the girls, and I packed up and came home. D.J. and Kierstin played outside for a little bit while I got Audrey ready for bed.

Sunday, D.J. had to get up at 5:00am to do some work, but then got to go back to bed for a little while. Then the girls woke us up around 7:45am and I got them breakfast while D.J. slept a little longer. Then he got up to work more and Kierstin and I left for the grocery store. D.J. and Audrey stayed home so he could work. Then we came home, unloaded the groceries, and had lunch. After lunch, the girls took naps and D.J. went to our friend Matt's house to help put new brakes on his truck. When D.J. got home, the girls woke up from their naps and all of us went outside to play. Our good friends and neighbors, Matt, Rebekah, and Aiden, came over to play. D.J. and Matt threw the softball around, getting ready for the spring session to start. Kierstin and Aiden played while Audrey watched from my lap and Rebekah and I chatted. Later, they left to go home and we came inside for dinner....chicken alfredo from the crock pot...yum! After dinner, the girls got baths and now Audrey is in bed and D.J. and Kierstin are playing before she goes to bed.

Busy weekend and some beautiful weather....I hope it continues!

Today is Friday, the 13th!

Thursday was a lazy day for the girls and I. We stayed home all day in our PJ's and I did laundry. After running around all week, we needed a day to stay home and relax. Kierstin watched Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty and we played Wii for a little while. We had dinner and then the girls got baths and off to bed they went. I did some homework and D.J. had to work for a little bit and then we watched Grey's Anatomy.

Today, we are staying home again. My dad is coming over this morning to work on hanging the storm door and he is also going to hang my new mirror and painting.

This weekend, my Aunt Georgia is in town, so we will be spending some time with her and my Grandma. D.J. has to work on Sunday, so it's going to be another busy weekend.

We hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

Happy "12th" Anniversary!

Today, is D.J. and I's 12th anniversary. We started dating on March 11, 1997! Wow, we're old....lol!

Happy Anniversary!

Busy Week!

Sunday night, when we got home from Aunt Pat and Uncle Roy's house, we had dinner and we gave Kierstin her birthday present from us....a Wii. She was very excited and wanted to play right away. My parents have a Wii and so do CC and Matt, so that is why we haven't gotten one, but I thought since Kierstin loves to play it so much, we should get one for our house. Kierstin is good at all the games and usually beats everyone.

Monday, Vicky came to paint the house, so the girls and I got ready and left. We had to clear out the playroom and I didn't want us to be in her way, so we went to my parents house during the days this week to retreat....thankfully, they don't mind having us over all the time and Kierstin loves going over there. We went to my parents house and stayed there all day. I worked on homework and then my mom, Kierstin, and I went to Target for a few things. At dinner time, the girls and I came home and waited for D.J. to come home from work.

Tuesday, Vicky was back at the house, so the girls and I left early again. We dropped Audrey off at my parents house so she could stay with my dad while Kierstin and I took my mom to her doctor's office. She had an appointment and when it was over, we went to Kohl's, Garden Ridge, and had lunch at Bread Company. I bought a big mirror for the dining room, a painting for the living room, new chair covers for the kitchen chairs, and some new clothes for Audrey. After shopping, we stopped by Best Buy to see CC because she had a special present for Kierstin....the DVD Pinocchio, Kierstin was very excited. After Best Buy, we went back to my parents house and Kierstin and I played outside. D.J. came over after work and we had dinner and then we put the girls to bed at my parents house and then we watched American Idol. It was going to be a late night, so the girls spent the night and Kierstin was very excited.

Wednesday, D.J. took off work for the whole day (Happy Anniversary, D.J.). No, D.J. didn't take off work because it is our anniversary, he took off because we had a million things to do. We woke up and waited for Vicky to arrive. Today, was her last day and she did the finishing touches. D.J. and I dropped the Durango off at a tire place in Wentzville to get our new tires put on and they also did an alignment and the safety and emissions tests. D.J. and I went to my parents house to pick up my mom and Kierstin for her soccer game. It was Parents Day at soccer so the parents got to go out on the field and play too....Kierstin loved that. After soccer, Kierstin and all the kiddos got to jump in the play houses upstairs. After soccer, we went back to my parents house for lunch and then D.J. and I left to come back to the house to meet Vicky. She was all done when we got here, so D.J. and I were able to see it all come together and we put our house back together. Then we went to pick up the Durango and D.J. was very excited because it had our new bigger tires on it....now the Durango sits about 3-4 inches higher! D.J. left the tire place and went back out to my parents house to pick up the girls and then all of them came home and we had dinner. After dinner, we had Wii Family Night. D.J., Kierstin, and I played Wii while Audrey watched from her bouncer. Now Audrey is in bed and Kierstin is reading books with Daddy!

The painting turned out fabulous. Vicky painted our dining room, playroom, and master bathroom....we love it all. If anyone is looking for a painter, let me know and I will give you her number because she is wonderful!

We hope everyone is having a good week!

Saturday/Sunday

Saturday was Kierstin's bowling birthday party. She woke up very excited to see her family and friends and to go bowling. The party was great and everything went off without a hitch. The bowling alley did a great job at keeping everything organized and coordinated. The kids had so much fun bowling and they all did a great job. Some of the adult guys also bowled and they seemed to have a lot of fun too. Kierstin got so many nice presents and she was super excited about all of them. I got so many compliments on the party and we are so happy that everyone had a blast.

After the party, we went to my parents house and played Dominos with my parents, CC, Matt, and Grandma Mary while the girls took naps. It was fun!

Sunday morning, we went back to my parents house. D.J., Matt, and my dad worked on the Durango. We ordered new shocks and brakes for the truck and D.J. wanted to save some money and put them on himself. My dad had the majority of the tools, so that is why we did it over there. It took a few hours, but the guys got it done and they did a great job. Later this week, our new tires (they were ordered online as well to save some money) will be coming and D.J. is going to take them somewhere to be put on. D.J. saved us over $500 by ordering the shocks and tires online and by doing it himself, so we are very excited about that. While the boys were working on the truck, CC took Kierstin outside to play some and blow bubbles. My mom, CC, the girls, and I also played inside and my mom made a very yummy lunch for all of us.

After Kierstin's nap, D.J., the girls, and I left and went to D.J.'s Aunt Pat's house to see his Grandma and Aunt Viola. Tomorrow, is Aunt Viola's 100th birthday, so we went to see them and visit. Aunt Viola will be 100 years old and she wants to go to the casino and make some money. Aunt Viola and Grandma Beal (who is 92 years old) are so funny and they get around like people who are in their 60's...no walkers, wheelchairs, or assistance from anyone. We had a great visit with them and we hope that Aunt Viola has a very Happy 100th Birthday!

We have a busy week this week....tomorrow, Vicky is coming to paint a few rooms in our house (dining room, play room, MB bathroom), which will be taking about 3 days, so the girls and I are going to go to my parents house and hang out and we are going to run a couple errands.

We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Beautiful Weather

Thursday, Kierstin, Audrey, and I played outside all afternoon. Kierstin rode her bike, played ball, and drew with sidewalk chalk. I put Audrey in the stroller and we went for a walk while Kierstin rode her bike, it was so much fun. When we walked back towards home, the neighborhood kids were home from school. Kierstin got to play with all of them and they had a blast. We came inside when it was nearly dark and had dinner. It was a great day!

Today, the girls and I got up and I took Kierstin to get her haircut. When we left Great Clips, we went to Progress Park in Wentzville. We got there shortly after 9am and no one was there. About 15-20 minutes later some people came and then by 10am, there was a ton of people. We left at 11am and it was packed. Kierstin had so much fun and she did a great job climbing the ladders, going down the slides, and playing with the other kids. Audrey stayed in her stroller and slept the entire time. We came home after being at the park for 2 hours and had lunch and then Kierstin took her nap. She said when she wakes up, she wants to go back outside to ride her bike.

It is a beautiful day and I hope all of you get to enjoy it!

Soccer & Shopping

This morning, Kierstin played soccer and of course, had a blast. She looks forward to soccer every week and she did an awesome job this morning.

After soccer, Kierstin, my mom, CC, and I went shopping for an outfit for Kierstin to wear to her bowling birthday party (Audrey stayed home with my dad). First, we went to Toys R Us, so CC could buy Kierstin a birthday present. CC wanted me to pick something out for her to give Kierstin at the party, so we had to be sneaky since Kierstin was there, but she never saw it! After Toys R Us, we went to Bed Bath & Beyond and I got a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner. We have needed a new vacuum cleaner for awhile and we were getting tired of putting money into a cheap vacuum, so we decided to splurge on a Dyson. They are pretty expensive, but I had a 20% off coupon, so it was worth it. After BBB, we went to lunch and then to Kohl's and Old Navy, where we found Kierstin an outfit and CC some new work pants. It was a beautiful day outside and we had a great time together!

Tonight, D.J. put together my new vacuum and I vacuumed all the carpeted floors....I love it and D.J. is pretty amazed with all the attachments and how quiet it is!

I hope everyone had a good day!

We Have 2 Growing Girls!

Today, was Kierstin and Audrey's check-up appointments at their doctor's office. Kierstin was being seen for her 4 year check-up and Audrey was having her 6 month check-up. D.J. went with us and went to work after the appointment.

Kierstin weighed in at 34 pounds and is almost 40 inches tall; she is average for her weight and length. The doctor came in and asked her some questions; favorite food and drink, birthdate, phone number, and a few other questions and Kierstin did such a good job answering them. The doctor went over a few things that Kierstin should be doing at this age, which she excelled in all of the areas. The doctor was very pleased with her progress and she told us Kierstin didn't have to come back to the office for another check-up until she's 5 years old and that is when they will do her kindergarten shots and physical....and I about fell over...I am going to have a kindergartner next year....wow!

Audrey weighed in at almost 16 pounds and over 26 inches long; she is average for her weight and long for her age. The doctor went over Audrey's eating habits and what to do with the next stage as well as her development skills. The doctor was very pleased with her development and growth and she commented that Audrey would probably be smart just like her big sister! Audrey got four shots and an oral vaccine. She was such a trooper and only yelled for second, but as soon as I picked her up, she was all smiles.

After the appointment, we went to Walmart to get a couple things and then we came home and had lunch. The girls took naps and I did a few things around the house.

Tonight, my parents, CC, and Matt came over for dinner. I cooked crock-pot pot roast and all the fixins'. After dinner, D.J., my dad, and Matt did some things around the house. With my birthday money and gift certificates (plus some of our own money), we bought a ceiling fan for our bedroom and a glass storm door for the front door. So my dad hung the fan in our room and then him and boys put together the storm door only to find out it didn't fit because our builder didn't make the door frame the standard size. So my dad is going to try and fix the frame so that we don't have to order a custom door...we shall see! Kierstin, Audrey, Aunt CC, my mom, and I read books and played. Then the girls went to bed and the rest of us watched American Idol! Now it's time for bed!

Happy Square Root Day!

I just heard that today is Square Root Day...3-3-09!

Yuck, I hate Math!

Funny!

Kierstin's Birthday Week

Kierstin is getting very excited about her upcoming birthday. I made her a count-down calender, so she can tear off a page every morning this week leading up to her birthday. She is very excited for her bowling party and to see all of her friends and family.

We have a busy week ahead of us; doctor's appointments, soccer, American Idol night, and getting ready for the party on Saturday.

We hope everyone has a great week!
