Spring Break 2011

Last week Kierstin was on spring break so I had planned on doing several different things with her and Audrey during the week. It was a very busy week, but we had a great time.

Monday, we got a surprise when we woke up....2 inches of snow. I knew it was going to be yucky outside, so I planned on doing something indoors. The girls and I picked up my niece Gianna and we went to the bowling alley. Cortney met us there too and we bowled, had lunch, and played games. Then we came home and all 3 girls played together!

Tuesday, I took the girls and Gianna to the Butterfly House. We got to see over 5,000 butterflies and the girls (and me) loved seeing the butterflies. Audrey loved getting close to the butterflies and singing to them....it was so cute. After the Butterfly House, we went to Chesterfield Mall for lunch. The girls got to ride the carousel several times and ride the other rides too. Then we came home and played some more.

Wednesday, I took the girls and the neighbor kids to the park to play for a couple hours and then we went to McDonald's for lunch. The kids had a blast.

Thursday, Audrey went to school, so Kierstin, her friend Cami, and I went to the Museum of Transportation and we got to see the trains, cars, and other things. The girls loved it going through the trains. Then we went to a different park and had lunch and the girls played. Thursday night, we surprised Kierstin with a night at a hotel (she loves hotels) and we also got to go swimming. Kierstin was so excited, she didn't want to leave. We swam several times, had dinner with Matt & Cortney, and stayed up late.

Friday, we woke up and swam again and then went out for breakfast. Then we headed to the Science Center for Grossology. Kierstin had waited for this day all week, plus D.J. took off work to go with us...she was very excited. We also saw a movie in the OmniMax called Sea Rex about underwater dinosaurs...Kierstin was in heaven, she loved every minute of it.

Saturday, Kierstin had a cooking class with my Mom which she enjoyed very much. They got to make 5 different things and she can't wait for the next class. She loves to cook and bake. Then she spent the afternoon/evening with my Dad putting legos together.

Sunday, we went to the Magic House. The girls loved the Magic House....they were in awe of everything thing. We had a blast and the girls learned a lot.

It was a long week, but very exciting and very fun. Kierstin said it was the best week ever and she never wanted it to end.
