Daddy's Day Off!

D.J. was off work yesterday because his work closed the campus; Kierstin was very excited to have Daddy home all day long. Kierstin's soccer game was canceled, so we stayed home all day. Shortly after breakfast, D.J. and Kierstin went outside to play in the snow again. The snow was much deeper and they had a blast. They went down the big hill in the back yard and made snow angels again. Kierstin came inside to warm up and D.J. shoveled the driveway. It didn't take him very long even though we have a 3 car garage driveway. He came him and we had lunch and then it was nap time for the girls. After nap time, Kierstin and D.J. played board games while I took care of Audrey and then I made dinner. Audrey had carrots with her dinner and she loved them. She had them the night before as well and liked them more than the green beans. After dinner, it was bath time and then play time before bed time. The girls went to bed and I did some homework and then we went to bed.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Kierstin woke up very excited about the snow, she couldn't wait to go out and play. I couldn't take her out because I couldn't leave Audrey inside by herself, so I told Kierstin she had to wait until Daddy got home. We stayed home today and played and we made carrot cake cupcakes for Daddy (his favorite). D.J. called at 3pm and said that his work was shutting down the campus early, so he was on his way home. He got home around 4:30pm and Kierstin was ready to go out. I bundled her up and she met D.J. at the door. They started in the front yard throwing snowballs and making snow angels and then went to the back yard to go sledding. We have a huge hill in our back yard, so they had fun sledding down it. Kierstin went down the big hill all by herself. I bundled Audrey up and handed her to D.J. to take a picture (Audrey was out there for about 10 seconds, but I had to take a picture for her first snow day!). After sledding, they came inside and warmed up. D.J. made us breakfast for dinner and it was yummy. Then all of us played Kierstin's new board game, Life on the Farm. Now the girls are in bed and I am catching up on the blog, homework, and emails. Here are some pictures from the snow day.

Yuck..Green Beans...Mmm..Green Beans

Sunday night with dinner, Audrey got her first taste of baby food, green beans. At first, she just made some faces that transposed to her not liking them, but she did eat some. Kierstin was eating regular green beans with dinner that night and she told Audrey that she should eat them because they make you big and strong and then she made some muscles...Audrey laughed and then spit out her green beans. We tried again on Monday night at dinner and although she made the same gross faces, she finished the jar, I guess she decided she liked them or she was just hungry. Tonight we are going to try carrots. Here are some pictures from the first time Audrey hate green beans.

Fun Weekend!

Thursday night, CC and Matt came over for dinner. The girls had so much fun hanging out with them. We played the Monkey's Jumping Off The Bed game, and Kierstin and Uncle Matt played football and hide-n-seek, and Aunt CC took care of Audrey. After the girls went to bed, we played Guitar Hero for a little while and then CC and Matt left and D.J. and I watch Grey's Anatomy.

Friday, Kierstin, Audrey, and I played all day and then after nap time, Grandma and Grandpa McComber came to pick them up for the weekend. They chilled out at home and played games and had a lot of fun, as usual. Kierstin loves going over there and sometimes she's not ready to come home. Friday night, D.J. and I went out to Shelley and Brian's (D.J.'s sister and brother-n-law) for dinner and to play Wii. They invited two other couples over, which were very nice and we can't wait to hang out with them again. They made some yummy food, we listened to records, and we played Wii for a little bit. It was a great night and we had so much fun and we can't wait to do it again.

Saturday, I did some homework while D.J. worked a little bit and played some video games. Then we made a trip to Target to buy Audrey some formula. After Target, we went to Walmart for some everyday essentials. Then we came home and I did some more homework while D.J. watched Transformers (his new blu-ray movie he got for Christmas). Then we got ready and met CC and Matt for dinner at the cafe in Harrah's. We met some other friends later at VooDoo for a friends birthday and the band was really bad, so we went into the casino for a little while. I didn't play, but D.J. played $20 on a black jack/poker machine and it lasted for about an hour, then we left and came home.

Sunday, we got up and went to get some Lee's Chicken to take to my parents house. We had lunch and then everyone played with Kierstin and Audrey. Then it was nap time for the girls, and me, D.J., CC, Matt, and my parents played Dominos (CC's favorite..haha!). It was a good and close game, but my mom won the game (but we all know she cheated...haha!). After the game, Kierstin woke up and D.J. and Aunt CC took her outside to play in the snow. They threw snowballs at each other and Kierstin made snow angels in the snow. All of them had a blast. After playing in the snow, we came home and had dinner. D.J. had to work from home tonight, so he got on his laptop and started working while I took care of the girls and got them ready for bed. The girls went to bed and I just finished my homework and D.J. is working and will probably have to work for a few more hours...ugh!

I hope everyone had a great and fun weekend....stay warm!

Early Day!

Today, my day started at 4:30am when my alarm went off. I got up and went to the gym. I met my friend Rebekah and her and I worked out. We go to the same gym and have decided to try to go together sometimes. She does some classes after work, but it's easier for me to get up and go before D.J. has to get up and go to work because I never know what time he will be home from work. This was my first real work out since I found out I was pregnant with Audrey and it was great. Before I found out I was pregnant, I was going to the gym several times a week, but I haven't really been since having Audrey. I did the treadmill and the elliptical machine and had an hour workout. I came home and took a shower and then D.J. got up and left for work and Audrey got up shortly after that.

Kierstin spent the night at my parents house last night and had so much fun. Grandma-ma Mary was there, so Kierstin got to play with her too. My mom brought her back home this morning and now the girls are napping.

Tonight, CC and Matt are coming over for dinner and Kierstin is super excited to see them and play. After the girls go to bed, it's Grey's Anatomy night.

Have a good night!

Happy "5 Months" Audrey!

Today, Audrey is 5 months old. She is doing so well and getting so big. Happy "5 Months" Audrey, we love you! Here is a picture of her that I took this morning.

Kierstin's First Day of Soccer

A few weeks ago, I enrolled Kierstin in soccer at Vetta in St. Peters (CC works there part time). Today, was Kierstin's first day and she was very excited. She has been practicing since I told her she was going to play in a class and last night, she kept saying she was ready to go play soccer. This morning, she woke up and wanted to eat breakfast and get dressed and run out the door because she was so excited. I told her it wasn't time to go yet, but she really wanted to get there early. So we left our house and got to Vetta a little early, but there were other kids there already too and the kids got to play on the field with the soccer balls until it was time for the class to start. There were 7 or 8 other kids in her class. Kierstin listened very well to the coach and the directions and all of the kids played nicely together. They did drills with the ball, exercises, games, and practiced their listening skills. After the class was over, she was exhausted, but said she couldn't wait to come back next week. She looked so cute out there on this big ole' field playing soccer and Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma Gayla got to watch from the stands and we were so proud of her.

Today History Was Made!

Barack Obama became the 44th President today and the first African American President; all I can say is, it's about time! I was very excited to watch all of the coverage and watch history unfold. The crowds were amazing, there were so many people there. Malia and Sasha are so cute and very well behaved. It was a great day!

Monday

We watched the football games last night and both teams that we wanted to win, won! It should be a good Superbowl Game this year! Go Steelers (even though we love the Cardinals and Kurt Warner, we want the Steelers to win).

Today was a fun day. Since D.J. was off of work today, we went to the mall. Kierstin needed some new tennis shoes and some long sleeve shirts, so we went shopping and had lunch. Kierstin was a very good girl, so she got to play on the play area before we left and she rode a couple rides. We came home late in the afternoon and D.J. and Kierstin played football while I finished up my assignment. Then we had dinner and I made a lasagna for dinner tomorrow night. Kierstin went to bed early tonight since she didn't get much of a nap today and Audrey followed shortly after. Now, D.J. and I are going to watch 24.

Have a good night!

Weekend Report

Friday night, D.J. and Kierstin played while I did some things around the house and got stuff ready for Saturday and Audrey played in her bouncer. Then we put the girls to bed and D.J. and I watched Righteous Kill with Al Pacino and Robert Deniro. Good movie!

Saturday morning, Kierstin woke us up around 8am and Audrey got up shortly after that. The girls had breakfast and then my parents came to pick Kierstin up. They went to a bookstore on Mid Rivers Mall Drive that had a Curious George book reading. A guy dressed up like Curious George while a woman read the book. Kierstin loved it and had a lot of fun. She loves Curious George books. After the book reading, my parents dropped Kierstin off at the party. D.J.'s extended family (aunts, uncles, and cousins) on his mom's side always gets together in January for Christmas. We ate and played Rob Your Neighbor. Kierstin got to play with all of her cousins and the little kiddos loved playing with Audrey. After the party, we dropped the girls off at my parents house and then we went out with Shelley and Brian (D.J.'s sister and brother-n-law) and his cousin Jennifer. We had a great time.

Sunday, we had lunch at my parents house and I did some homework. We are going to watch football all day (Go Steelers & Cardinals!) and hang out.

We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weekly Details

Our internet has been off most of the week. Monday, our provider was having some issues and promised to have it fixed soon, but it wasn't. Tuesday, the internet was still not working and by Thursday morning, I called them again. They said they got the problems taken care of, but then there was an outage in Wentzville, so it didn't get fixed until Thursday afternoon.....ugh!

Wednesday, the girls and I picked up my mom and we went to Sam's. We needed to get a few things and then we went back to my parent's house. I used their wireless internet connection so that I could catch up on my homework. I was two days behind and I couldn't wait any longer. Kierstin played and took a nap. After I did some homework, I packed up and came home. Kierstin got to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa...she loves mid-week sleep overs.

Thursday, I dropped Audrey off at my parent's house and I went to my doctors appointment. Then I went and did some grocery shopping and came home to do laundry and homework. Later that night, Kierstin played with D.J. and then the girls were off to bed. D.J. and I watched Grey's Anatomy and then we went to bed.

Today, Kierstin and I made brownies for tomorrow...we are going to a Christmas party. Every January, D.J.'s mom's family gets together for Christmas (they do it in January because it is easier for the out of towners). The girls are napping now and when Kierstin gets up, we will play some more and wait for D.J. to come home.

Since I didn't have internet yesterday, I didn't get to post a Happy Birthday Wish to Grandma Beal. It was D.J.'s Grandma's birthday yesterday, Happy Birthday Grandma Beal! We love you!

We hope everyone has had a good week.

Weekend Report

Friday night, D.J. and I rented Pineapple Express and watched it. It was an okay movie, some funny parts, but not great.

Saturday, I woke up and did some homework, then I woke D.J. up and he made us breakfast, it was yummy. After breakfast, we went down to the basement and cleaned and organized it. D.J. used his new shop vac and cleaned up all of Shadow's hair and then we organized everything in separate sections. Since I am the "rubbermaid queen," it was pretty easy. All of my Christmas decorations are in green rubbermaid containers, all of the Halloween decorations are in orange containers, all of the Valentine's Day decorations are in red/clear containers, all of Kierstin's old toys are in purple containers, and all of Kierstin's old clothes and the household/kitchen items are in white/clear containers. It made it super easy to organize everything. Now it is all clean and easily accessible. After we finished the basement, we went to get something to eat and then went to Best Buy. D.J.'s cell phone has been giving him some problems, so he picked out a new one and bought it with his Christmas money and gift cards. Best Buy was packed and we were there for awhile, so afterwards we came home.

Sunday, we woke up and went to my parents house for lunch, we had tacos...yummy! After lunch, I did homework and D.J. and Kierstin played football (her new favorite game). Then it was nap time for Kierstin and D.J. watched football and played with Audrey. Then we came home and D.J. and the girls played and then went to bed. After the girls were in bed, D.J. and I watched the season premiere of 24. We have waited so long for this show to start, so we were very excited. Another 2 hours of it comes on tonight...yay!

This morning, while Audrey was napping, Kierstin and I cleaned out and organized the computer room/spare bedroom. I needed to clean out the filing cabinet and then file some things. Kierstin helped me shred some papers and then I filed everything. I threw out or shredded anything that we didn't need that was older than 2 years. The filing cabinet was getting full, so I cleaned it out and got it all organized. I guess I am in a cleaning/organizing mood....first the junk drawer in the kitchen, the laundry room, the pantry, the basement, and now the filing cabinet. D.J. thinks I am the most organized person he knows and I guess I am, but it takes work sometimes. After Kierstin's nap, we may make some muffins or something fun!

We hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Audrey's First Taste of Food!

Last night, Audrey had her first taste of real food....rice cereal. Now that she is over 4 months old, she can start rice cereal. After having rice cereal for a couple weeks, she can start fruits and veggies. Last night after her dinner bottle, she had some rice cereal. She didn't quite know what to do about the spoon, as most babies don't, but she got the hang of it and seemed to love the cereal. Kierstin helped feed her and I guess Audrey didn't think Kierstin was going fast enough because she wanted more cereal faster than Kierstin could feed her. It was so cute. Here are a few pictures:

Busy Week

Monday, my mom, Kierstin, and I took Audrey to the doctor for her 4 month checkup. The doctor thinks she is doing wonderful and meeting her milestones accordingly. She weighed in at 12 lbs. 14 oz. and is 24 3/4 inches long; according to her percentiles, she is long and skinny. She also got 4 shots and one oral vaccine, but she was such a trooper and only fussed for a second. After her appointment, we came home, had lunch, and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. For dinner, the girls and I met D.J., CC, Matt, my parents, and Matt's parents at T.G.I. Fridays for CC's birthday. We had a yummy dinner and it was great hanging out with each other.

Tuesday, the girls and I stayed home. Kierstin helped me do all the laundry and helped me put everything away. Kierstin and I also played with her new puzzles that help her spell words, she loved them. We also played "mom and baby", hide-n-seek, and she finger painted. D.J. had to work late, so the girls and I played after dinner and we put Audrey on her playmat for tummy time and she rolled over again and again. She also found her toes over the weekend, so she had fun playing with them while she was laying on her back. After D.J. got home, he and Kierstin played for a little while and then the girls were off to bed. I did some homework and D.J. did some work on his laptop.

Today, the girls and I went to the grocery store for a few things and then we came home. Kierstin and I worked in her preschool workbooks. Kierstin got several workbooks for Christmas and she worked in one of them last week and wanted to do some more today, so we got them out and she did almost a whole book. She is so smart and she loves learning new things. Now, the girls are napping and I am going to do some homework.

We hope everyone is having a good week!

Table & Bathroom Pictures

Here are some pictures of our new table in the dining room and our new painted bathroom. It's kind of hard to tell, but the bathroom is a dark red color.

Loooonnnnngggg Weekend!

The girls spent a long weekend with my parents and did all sorts of things. They went to the carousel mall and Kierstin got to ride the big carousel 4 times and some of the little rides. They also had lunch with Great Grandma Dolly and Great Aunt Linda one day and played lots. By Sunday night, Kierstin was not ready to come home yet, she wanted to stay with Grandma and Grandpa one more night, but I told her that she had to come home and see Shadow and Mr. Red Fish.

Friday, D.J. and I ran some errands and then ran by Cortney and Matt's to drop off their Wii. They brought it over on New Year's Eve, so we took it back to them. We ended up staying for a little bit and then going out to dinner.

Saturday morning, I woke up and went shopping with my mom and Cortney so that Cortney could spend some of her Christmas money. Then we had lunch and I came home. D.J. played video games all day and got to play one of his new games. Saturday night, we went to dinner at Olive Garden with Cortney and Matt and some other friends for Cortney's birthday. We bought Cortney and Matt a gift certificate to Olive Garden for Christmas and they bought us one too, so we spent them together....great minds think a like! After dinner, we all went bowling!

Sunday, D.J. and I went to Matt's jewelry store and helped pack up some things. D.J. stayed to help Matt and his dad move and Cortney and I went to our parents house for lunch. We stayed there all day while D.J. and Matt moved and when they came to my parents house later Sunday night, we all packed up and came home.

It was a busy weekend and we hope everyone had a great weekend!
